Relationships: Worry About Disappointing Others?

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

By Nick Arrizza, M.D. Do you ever worry that wanting to do something that feels right to you will disappoint someone else? Even worse does this worry then block you from doing what you really wanted and cause you to capitulate only to protect the other and your integrity as a caring and compassionate person? If this is the case and you feel that this worry is cramping your life then I ask you to follow the discussion below which will show you a way to freedom. A freedom that will not only enhance your self confidence, self esteem, your integrity but also your ability to be fully in charge of your self and your life. Here we go. What is the usefulness of this type of worry? Well it is supposed to: 1. Make you consider your choices carefully, so that, 2. You choose that which will protect others from being hurt or disappointed, so that, 3. Others will be kept safe, feeling secure, happy and content, so that, 4. They will be happy with you, consider you a kind and caring person, so that, 5. You will feel happy, relieved, at peace, content, good about yourself and like a caring person. So in other words: (A) The worry of disappointing others makes you feel happy, relieved, at peace, content, good about yourself and like a caring person. Is that true for you? If you look at what the worry really does to you I think you will notice that you likely feel: tense, confused, frustrated, at odds within yourself, indecisive, caught, uncomfortable, evasive, dishonest with yourself about what you really want, dishonest with the other person about what you want, as if youve just sacrificed your integrity, badly about yourself for this, and like an uncaring cold hearted person to name a few. So is that the sentiment communicated in statement (A) above? It’s the exact opposite isn’t it? So which is the truth then about this worry, statement (A) or its opposite? When you come to the correct conclusion I think you’ll feel something significant shift deep within you. Many who have experienced feelings of relief, self control, lightness, freedom, self confidence, self esteem, joy, a sense of personal honesty and integrity, and a reconnection to their deep Divine Self. How To Buy A Custom Engagement Ring Online

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

By Smith Jane Asking somebody to marry you can be one of the most exciting events of your life. And, of course, the engagement ring that you use will be a large part of this process. If you are in the market for an engagement ring there are many options that you should consider. In this day and age you should consider buying your engagement ring online. This may sound risky, but the fact of the matter is that the best deals on high end full cut certified diamonds for the public are coming from online diamond merchants. Its safe, quick, cost effective and the online merchants have the best return policies and upgrade programs available. There are five important steps that you must follow when buying a custom engagement ring online. These steps will help you with the buying process, keep you directed, ordered and ultimately help you build the ultimate diamond engagement ring. 1. Before you ever decide to buy a custom engagement ring online you need to determine an appropriate budget. There are hundreds of ring choices for you to make, and having a budget in mind will make the selection process much easier on you. Having a solid budget is even more important when buying a custom engagement ring because your options are even more varied. Remember, the diamond is usually going to eat up most of your money with an engagement ring. Unless you are keeping your center stone to a minimum, that showcase diamond will usually be between 65% - 95% of your expense. If you need help understanding diamond values, ask a pro. Email questions, chatting online or a quick 5 -10 minute educational phone session is a great way to get understanding of diamond values without dealing with the pressure of sales people. 2. If you are surprising your partner you may not have any idea as to what type of engagement ring they are looking for. While this can sometimes be tricky, take advantage of the subtle hints, and definitely pay attention to her tastes in style. Is she simple, clean and classic, vintage, retro, old fashioned antique???. Look at her current jewelry collection. Does she prefer conspicuous and big, small and discrete, white gold or silver, yellow gold? Paying attention to such things should give you better direction. 3. Learn as much as you can about diamonds. Surely, the custom engagement ring that you buy will feature diamonds. But remember, there are many different types for you to choose from. Keep the five Cs in mind: carat, color, clarity, cut and most important cost. That fifth C is where gem economics comes into play, and only a seasoned diamond specialist will know how to explain clearly how dollars translate to gem characteristics. Dont listen to friends and family. Doesnt matter how educated they think they are. If they arent in the industry, they dont have access to the pricing standards and market trends necessary to understand fully. 4. Once you have considered the five Cs it is time to choose a diamond. This can be difficult when shopping online, so we strongly suggest that you go to a local jeweler to view diamonds in person. If youre going to take advantage of the online diamond values, look at certified diamonds ONLY! GIA, AGS, EGL USA and EGL are some of the most popular third party diamond certifications available. Shop with your eyes and your budget. When you see a diamond that meets your expectations, have the jewelry PHOTOCOPY the certification. Do NOT let them just jot down the carat, color, shape and price. This is not enough information to do genuine comparison. The entire certification is needed. OR, you write down the certificate report #. This can be looked up on the certification companies website. Its the information on this certification that is crucial for online diamond buying. Now, match the specs on your report with those specs listed online. There are some tricky subtlet ies, so assistance from a diamond specialist is very helpful. 5. Ask about any money back guarantee before you make a final decision. Just like anything else, when you buy a custom engagement ring online you want to make sure the fabricator stands by their work. If the piece is shoddily made or if its not what you ordered, having a guarantee will put your mind to rest. Now youre ready to buy. Avoiding state TAX, Credit Card Fraud protection, great return policies, third party certifications and the fact that you have seen a similar diamond in person stack up very well for online jewelers, and make the argument for buying your certified diamond or custom engagement ring online a strong one. Mark Your Presence Through Free Phone Numbers

Monday, August 27th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Fletcher_Mak]Fletcher Mak Presence is imperative, be it virtual or physical. Running a business if not entirely, primarily depends on how accessible you are to your consumers. The need of customer satisfaction has grown tremendously over the years which further confirmed how critical accessibility is. That does not imply or anyway lessen down the significance of high quality products and services whichever industry your business belongs to. Let us accept this fact for once and ever. It is impossible for any business or individual to be physically present on every location. Ubiquity is not a practical entity. This emphasizes the need for virtual presence and facilitating the same to everyones comfort are free phone numbers or Toll-free numbers or more widely recognized 800 numbers. Each one of us must have called once or more than that through these toll-free numbers. More often than not to customer support or technical support of various products and services. Calling through these numbers does not cost us a penny. Thats why they are called toll-free numbers. But the companies to which you would call through their free phone numbers pay the cost of these calls to toll-free service providers. Toll-free number providers have proved to be an ally in running a successful business as they help the companies form an efficient medium for customer feedbacks, suggestions and contacts which are the bottom-lines of managing a large consumer base. How does it work is not as simple as we bring it into application. Albeit, it could be understood simply on the lines of call divert functionality of mobile phones. Free phone number providers give these businesses an 800 number which when dialed reaches a phone number provided by them through these service providers channel and hence communication is established. These providers charge their clients on an industry standard format. The most common example thriving on the concept of free phone numbers are call centers and BPOs. Hydrotherapy as a Natural Home Remedy

Saturday, August 25th, 2007

By Roshana Indika Samarathunge From the beginning of civilization, water has been revered as an important healing therapy in cultures around the world. Hydrotherapy treatments are based on the use of water in all of its forms-hot and cold water, ice, and steam-to stimulate healing. Hydrotherapy can be used to increase circulation and lymphatic flow, ease pain, and relieve muscular tension. Forms of hydrotherapy that you can easily use at home include Sitz baths.Foot baths.Compresses.Sitz Baths Sitz baths alleviate congestion in the abdominal organs and stimulate circulation and lymphatic flow in the pelvic region. They take a bit of effort, but are an effective treatment for menstrual cramps, cystitis, and fibroids. Use sitz baths as often as desired, or at least every other day when treating a chronic condition such as uterine fibroids. You’ll need two plastic tubs that are large enough to comfortably hold your buttocks. The purpose of this treatment is to focus the hot and cold baths on your pelvic region to stimulate circulation, so the water should reach only to your navel, leaving your upper body, legs, and feet out of the water. Fill one tub with water as hot as you can tolerate. Fill the other tub with ice cold water. You’ll only need to fill the tub halfway or less with water-you’ll be able to determine how much water you need by sitting in the tub. It usually takes a bit of experimentation to get the amount of water and the temperature just right. The hot tub should be approximately 105-110 degrees F, and the cold tub should be between 55-65 degrees F. You may need to add ice cubes to the cold tub to obtain the desired temperature. Add 7 drops of essential oil to the hot bath, mixing the oil into the water with your hand. Use lavender or marjoram for menstrual cramps; sandalwood or juniper for cystitis; and ginger for uterine fibroids.Begin by lowering your buttocks into the hot tub–the water will feel uncomfortably hot at first. Sit with your upper body and legs out of the tub, and make sure that your pelvic region is covered up to your navel with the water. Stay in the hot water for three minutes, and then immediately move to the cold tub for one minute.Alternate between the hot and cold tubs three times, remaining in the hot tub each time for three minutes and the cold tub for one minute. Finish with the cold tub, towel off briskly, and rest for a few minutes, focusing your attention on the healing flow of energy circulating throughout your pelvis.Foot Bath Alternating hot and cold foot baths help to stimulate lymphatic flow and also relieve tired, aching feet and legs. They are especially helpful for varicose veins. Use these foot baths as often as desired. You’ll need two buckets large enough to hold both of your feet, and ideally deep enough so that the water will reach to  the middle of your calves to help to stimulate lymphatic flow. Fill one bucket with water as hot as you can tolerate (approximately 105-110 degrees F). Fill the other bucket with ice cold water (approximately 55-65 degrees F-you may need to add ice cubes to obtain the desired temperature). Add 7 drops of rosemary essential oil to the bucket of hot water to further stimulate circulation. Sit in a comfortable chair and immerse both of your feet in the hot water for three minutes. Immediately plunge your feet into the bucket of cold water for one minute. Repeat the cycle three to five times, ending with the cold water plunge.Ginger Compress Hot ginger compresses stimulate increased circulation and are helpful for treating uterine fibroids and menstrual cramps. Use ginger compresses as needed for easing menstrual cramps, and at least every other day for uterine fibroids. Grate a handful of fresh ginger root, place in a piece of cheese cloth, twist to make a ball, and tie with a piece of string.Fill a large pot with one gallon of water, squeeze the juice from the ginger into the water, and drop the ball of ginger into the water. Cover the pot and heat the water, but do not boil it.Turn off the heat. Make a compress by folding a cotton hand-towel in half lengthwise. Dip the towel into the hot ginger water, keeping the ends dry to prevent burning your fingers.Wring the compress out and place it over your abdomen, being careful to not burn your skin. You might need to let the compress cool for a few seconds before placing it onto your skin.Cover the compress with a thick, dry towel to retain the heat. When the hot towel cools to body temperature, replace it with a fresh hot compress.Continue placing hot compresses over your abdomen until  your skin turns bright red, which usually takes about 15 to 20 minutes. Secure Your Future With Disability Health Insurance

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

By Javier Fuller Disability health insurance cover is necessary for all. Even for the normal people! Well, human life is like the cycle of seasons. There are good times, bad times and worst times. In the event of a disability everything may go haywire. Talking about your working career, you have limited income and many fixed responsibilities. To meet such an eventuality, disability health insurance is thus needed. The policy is all about getting certain about the uncertainty, from the financial point of view. If the organization you are working with is offering you the schemes as part of the terms and conditions of your service to provide you with the disability health cover, it is well and good. You can as well make your private arrangements to be a member of such a scheme by taking a policy and making regular premium payments. In the later case, the premiums are free from income tax. However, when you make the decision to buy the disability health policy, do read several online quotations from some reputed brokers and study the terms and conditions carefully. For, there are many companies and many policies. The advantages detailed therein are also many. Your broker can also be your adviser in this matter. But remember, brokers are also businessmen. They may deliberately try to promote an insurance company that offers more percentage of brokerage to them. Think from both the angles- why you should listen to the broker’s advice and why you should not. Disability is a condition that bars one from performing the normal physical and mental functions. However there are certain permanent types of disabilities like blindness also. But the disabled persons enjoy certain fundamental rights. They are accommodated and given chance to work in places where it is safe and comfortable for them to work. They have a right to participate in all government activities. You cover under the disability health scheme will not debar you from taking health insurance policies for various purposes. Many organizations provide compulsory insurance cover, what is called group insurance cover to their members. There is substantial discount in premiums in such cases. In many health insurance policies, clauses for accidental insurance, disability income insurance, medical expenses insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance are also provided. God forbid, in the hours of extreme distress of disability, the value and support of disability health insurance is the only savior. It would be- having taken a right step at the right time! http://www.about-disability.com/ & Disability provides detailed information on disability, mental health disability, medical disability and more. Christian Ethics Essay

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

By Aaron Schwartz In Philip Wogamans Christian Ethics: A historical Introduction, the influence of ancient philosophical traditions is evident. To what extent have these traditions influenced early Christian thought? Is Christian ethical thought an extension of earlier philosophical traditions, or is it based upon its own principles and ideologies? With these questions in mind, what and who is the basic foundational structure of this discipline? History witnesses that the ideas similar to Christian moral had appeared long ago before the birth of Christ, as Christian moral has lots of concepts that originate in common natural laws, fundamentals of peaceful coexistence and simple human moral. Historians argue nowadays about the origins of Christianity and are looking for analogical moral teaching and philosophical ideas that existed in last centuries of BC both in Palestine and in Ancient Greece. Most of moral concepts of Christianity came into new religion from Judaism and from different religious and moral tendencies of Ancient word, both eastern and western. Fatalism, humility, ascetic way of life and self perfection teachings already existed long before Christianity and had made an incredible influence on Christian ethics supplementing existing religion by universality and availability of its philosophy. As a result, Christianity became nearly the first religion that got a global spread, as it was no longer a class religion, it was the religion, accepted by all classes, as everyone could find salvation in all-mighty god who considered every person to be his earthly child who were all equal for him, despite heritage, merit and race. Christian philosophy was accumulating the achievements of ancient Jewish, Greek and Roman philosophical and ethic thought and was supplemented by them even during the second-third century after its foundation. Christianity accepted metaphysics of Aristotle, stoic beliefs, Judaist concept of monotheism and many other aspects. Especially when studying the origins of Christian ethics scientists refer to the moral teaching of Stoics and their brightest representatives: Seneca and Epicurus. Stoics taught that people have to live according to the laws of nature and laws of universal harmony. They considered natures laws and nature of things to be the ideal of ones life, and their teaching was telling about the rules of harmonic coexistence in this world. Stoics believed that everything is decided by natural laws, that individuals destiny is planned before. So anyone who would try to act contrary to destiny will fail anyway, as its impossible to act contrary to nature. These ideas are quite similar to some of Christian beliefs, for example in the dogma about almighty God and predestination. Besides, teaching of stoics was promoting moderate and simple way of life, ideas of humanism and good attitude, search for the truth and a skill to live a happy life. Stoics saw happiness in freedom from passions, in tranquility of spirit and indifference. Some of similar ideas are common to Christian moral as well. The teaching of Seneca, who belonged to Stoics, was adopted by Christian church, and his influence on the development of Christian ethics and philosophy was considerable in later years as well. Christianity adopted a set of stoic ethics concepts, and a lot of Christian authors of the Western Roman Empire cited Seneca and referred to his essays in their works. In 4 century AD there was even composed a correspondence between St. Paul and Seneca, Senecas literary works were popular among Humanists of Renaissance and Enlightenment. Still philosophical beliefs of Seneca were not consistent. His discourses were concentrated on the place of philosophy in humans life and on the problems of practical moral. Philosophy according to Seneca was a balsam for humans soul. The main task of Senecas discourses was to find the best answer on the question how to live and how to die, to give spiritual independence from routine problems and fears. Seneca considered all people to be equal: they are slaves,-no they are people! They are slaves, no they are friends! They are slaves! No, they are modest friends!, but still Senecas discourses were directed to give a hope to roman aristocracy, but not to common people, as he was not really close to commons. Senecas view about material goods were also non single valued, he preached intricate way of life, modest behavior and humility, but he didnt stand against wealth, moreover in his poems he glorified the wealth of Rome. Justifying sinful and immoral human nature which is inclined to temptation and hypocrisy (as moral ideas are violated by majority), he stated that human nature is sinful and weak, but still people have to work on themselves. The same concepts about human nature are found in basics of Christian ethics as well. Senecas believes are also similar to Christian beliefs about life after death, as Seneca taught that earthly life has to be a preparation for death: one life bad is not able to die good. For the sake of that its important to stand hardships, pain, fears and dangers met in route life; at the same time one has to fight his passions and temptations. And the heroic image of gladiator is an ideal for Seneca. Religious origins of Christianity which are found in Judaism were modified nearly a century before Christ by a Greek philosopher, Philon of Alexandria. Philon tried to combine the Old Testament with the teaching of Stoics, Pythagoreans and followers of Plato. At the same time he explained the essence of god which was transcendental, if compared to Judaist concept of god only for chosen people. According to Philon two forcers served God- Word (Logos) and Holly spirit (hagion pneuma), this was something similar to the Christian dogma about holly trinity. According to Philon, a man was an image of word or Logos, as the world was created by god by means of word. Echoes of Philons religious and moral teaching are found in moral and ethical concepts of late Christianity: the meaning of charity, universality of sin, etc. Everything that was mentioned above allows considering Philons teaching as Christianity without Christ. By the opinion of many scientists, it would be hard to determine the origins and fundamentals of late Christian moral concepts and religious particularities if the was nothing known about activity of Philon. Such canonic Christian works as Holly gospels of disciples become clearer from ethical and philosophical point of view only when comparing them to the teaching of Philon. Buy Dissertation Custom Essay Term paper Christianity was also influenced by Stoic ideas of Roman emperor Mark Aurelius, who by the way cruelly persecuted Christians. Thats why to consider that Christianity introduced something new into ethics and morality would be incorrect, as it executed the role of a synthesis of different teachings and ideas that existed long before Christ in order to make Christianity really universal. Fooling Ourselves

Monday, August 20th, 2007

By E. Raymond Rock Have you ever noticed how we fool ourselves? Its quite an amazing thing. We think, Boy, If I can only achieve this or get that, then Ill be set, but we are never quite set. Even if we are fortunate enough to achieve it all, it is never enough, and we remain unhappy in our relentless pursuit of success. We think that our beliefs or ideals have insured us happiness, but when we look at the realities of life, this is but an illusion. We always need more, and a pattern develops, but seldom are we astute enough to catch the pattern, we are too busy pursuing those things that we should know by now will never make us happy, except perhaps, for a fleeting moment. The pattern that evolves has to do with our minds, minds that remain unfulfilled internally no matter the magnitude of our outward accomplishments, and fulfilling this mind is the answer to the suffering of humanity. And since we attempt to become fulfilled only from outside sources, which we can never get enough of, we must selfishly take from others. Life becomes a struggle; its us against them, with endless conflicts regardless of our professed beliefs. We try to solve the conflicts by manipulating life so that it satisfies us, but we only set ourselves up with a daunting, impossible task. Why we do this day in and day out, generation after generation, is the answer to humanities crimes against itself. Think about it; when were we ever satisfied to the point of saying, There! Ive done it! Im finished, and now I never have to do anything again! It sounds silly doesnt it? Life is action, and the action never stops; relaxing is not in the cards. So to believe that you can do a practice, or just “believe, or follow a path that will solve this constant struggle with life is fooling ourselves. Some might say, Of Course I understand life — its simply a matter of survival and taking care of our own! But this is not living, this is constant strife. So if we can neither get away from our struggles in life or accept that life is a constant struggle, what do we do? What we do is stop doing! This is the point in our lives, a most difficult passage, where we attempt to do the most difficult thing possible to stop doing. When we dont have answers to our struggles, we usually seek security. When we succumb to a belief system and rely on others to tell us what to do, or rely on our money, or our ideology, then we are lost for sure. Then there is no more inquiry into our struggles as we psychologically believe that we have somehow transferred all of our discontent to a savior, or a system, or something that will bail us out. When we hide in our illusions in this manner, and not face life, we fall fast asleep. Understanding requires courage to unflinchingly face the suffering humankind is up against, moment to moment, until a passion builds to escape our circumstances. And to escape our circumstances requires both understanding, and enough courage not to hide from the facts. The first thing we must do is become inactive, not proactive; that is, we must accept the fact that as human beings, we are destined to suffer in many ways, and that life, itself, is not satisfactory. We dont give up and commit suicide, because suicide will just land us back into our same circumstances the next time around. No, we must remain with our suffering and face it until the suffering turns into humility and compassion. Only then does a possibility exist where life becomes something other than suffering. Then is there an opportunity to transcend life and experience another dimension, another Reality that will satisfy us in ways never imagined. Just remember, nothing is wrong with you if you discover that life, in fact , sucks. Actually, it is an indication that you are evolving. Dont listen to those still stuck in the old ways; their shrill voices are becoming obvious and not relevant anymore. Instead, keep these people in mind: John 12:25. He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. The Buddhas first Noble Truth: Life is Suffering Copyright E. Raymond Rock 2007. Some Things You May Not Know About Luring Fish In The Night

Saturday, August 18th, 2007

By Daniel Eggertsen Night fishing is becoming more and more popular recently, and for good reason. Not only do you get cooler temperatures, less competition and congestion for the best areas, but there are also many more opportunities for bigger catches. When it comes to night fishing, do you need special bait? Yes and no. Depending on where you go, you may need to adjust the colors of your lures and plastics. In general, many fishermen like to use heavier tackle at night because it is easier to ‘feel’ the lure. Also, by using stronger equipment, it will be easier to land the bigger fish you will come across at night. Here are a few lures you may want to try next time you are out at night: - Hair or rubber jigs - 3/8 ounce or heavier - Spinnerbaits. - Poppers and wobblers topwater lures. - Plastic worms. We have found when using topwater lures, our best success is with black and deep purple lures. For other lures, we have the best luck with dark, non-black colors (red/purple/brown). Of course, you will need to test various lure colors at your favorite fishing spot. Not all colors work at all times and at all places. Just take a handful of different colors with you until you see the one that works best where you are. As obvious as that sounds, you would be surprised at the people who “read somewhere” that black lures work best at night for example, so that’s all they pack for their trip. If they come home empty handed, they blame the person who gave them the advice. That is why it is a good idea to listen to others for advice, but also use a little common sense at the same time. Another quick tip since we are talking about lures… Single hook lures are usually a good idea to prevent tangles when fumbling around with rods and reels in the darkness.
